To be eligible for this course you need to answer yes to the following:

  • Aged 19+ and have lived in the UK for the last 3 years
  • Be unemployed and in receipt of a benefit such as JS or UC
  • Entry 3 English and Maths with decent spoken English

Qualifications:

  • Level 1 City & Guilds Award in Construction Skills ( Bricklaying)

  • CSCS Card

What is Covered:

  • Basic techniques in bricklaying

  • Constructing half brick wall

  • Constructing half brick return corners.

  • Knowledge and support to achieve the CSCS card with a Level 1 Health and Safety in construction 

  • Interview skills and CV writing

  • Work based/ scenario exercises 

How will I be assed:

Practical and work based scenario exercises

Progression:

  • City & Guilds Level 1 Certificate / Diploma in Construction 

  • City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Construction 

  • Kickstart employment 

  • Apprenticeship
