Course content
Students will learn rolling mortar, preparation and measurement, building single skin brick and block walls, construction of corners, building a cavity wall, forming windows and lintels, pointing and building a damp course.
The aim of this course is to provide a basic understanding of what requirements are needed to be in place to enable them to enter into the Construction sector. The course is directed at acquisition of basic skill sets in Bricklaying and an understanding of Health and Safety matters that relate to the Construction Industry
which includes,
Rolling mortar
Setting out, gauge height, measurements etc
Building single skin brickwork
Building single skin blockwork
Building corners
Building a cavity wall
Forming a window opening
Building in a lintel
Pointing brickwork & blockwork
Building in a damp course
